JSL Approved, Dusit Thani Dubai

If a picture paints a thousand words, then speechless was my canvas. Truly no picture prepared me for the grandeur and opulence of the Dusit Thani Dubai. From breath-taking views to supreme hospitality to over the top delicious restaurants and bars, this hotel has rightly earned its five-star reputation. The Dusit Thani Dubai is fearlessly located crossways from the Burj Khalifa, yet its situated like a piece to the puzzle amongst the skyscrapers that makes Dubai “The Metropolis” it is today. Believe me when I say, no expense is spared for comfort and luxury; as this Thai inspired hotel immerses its guests into a culture within a culture. I was greeted by Daniel Andrews, Manager of Public Relations and Communications and staff with “Sawadee Krap,” which means hello in Thai. In addition, we were greeted by a beautiful woman dressed in traditional Thai garb who acclimated us to what is means to be VIP guest at the Dusit Thani Dubai.

The Club Lounge located on the thirty-fourth floor; provided us a private check in, as it offered distinctive design and outstanding services and amenities. Some of the amenities and services included complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and non-alcoholic beverages all day, butler services, and limousine booking. In addition to the Club Lounge one of many memorable points was the Pool Deck, located on the roof top of the hotel boasts a fully equipped gymnasium, roof top pool and jacuzzi. My deluxe club king room was spacious and appropriately furnished for business or leisure. Separate living area and bedroom allowed me versatility between work and rest. Two features that I really enjoyed were the canopy-styled bed and the automatic shutters behind the bed.  My accommodation also included all of the common amenities with the unlikely yet delightful addition of a personal espresso machine. The hotel boasts several world-class restaurants and bars which combine Asian hospitality and supreme elegance, and some of the finest cuisine found in Dubai. However, my favorite (mostly because its 24 hours) was The Dusit Delicatessen a 24 hour deli, located on the 1st floor. It’s infamous for its breakfast and generous servings of salads, mouth-watering sandwiches and thirst quenching smoothies. Another jewel was the Californian, an intentional breakfast smorgasbord that is sure to meet every palette from Indian to Chinese to American and beyond. In one word, Delicious!

After working up an appetite from all of my daily adventures while in Dubai; I decided to go Italian. Pax, an Italian restaurant at The Dust Thani Dubai offers many Italian favorites along with exceptional views of Dubai’s skyline. I opted on the Chicken and Mushroom Alfredo simply put, DELIZIOSO! Daniel Andrews and I dined at Benjarong. The ambiance of the restaurant is strikingly beautiful with blue and gold walls and intricate carvings; back dropped with the live playing a Thai Kim. Benjarong is Dusit’s signature restaurant that served us the most authentic Royal Thai cuisine in its purest traditional setting. Benjarong’s dishes are genuinely prepared by a full Thai kitchen staff with ingredients flown directly in from Thailand.  The Tom Yam Gung (hot prawn soup seasoned with lime, lemon grass, and chili) was my starter which was highly recommended by staff…I’m glad I listened. Sampling too many dishes to name, I thoroughly enjoyed assorted fried vegetables in oyster sauce, chicken in coconut green curry and white rice. Daniel and his team are extremely professional, warm, and provide supreme customer service to their guests. The Dusit Thani Dubai embodies the true essence and magnificent of Thailand – just in the Middle East. It’s not just another hotel, The Dusit Thani Dubai is an experience. The Dusit Thani Dubai prouldy received the Jetsetter Lifestyle Stamp of Approval Award.
